This SoHo-based gallery needed a system to display and manage various works of art, with attention paid to the artist and their exhibitions. A content management system was delivered which took these relationships into account.
While a student at SUNY Purchase, I developed this website which was dedicated to campus news and culture.
Emmanuel Fremin needed a site redesign with content management functionality for his gallery in SoHo. He wanted to be able to display the artists he was showing in the gallery, while managing each artists works and the exhibitions they were being displayed in. With the Drupal platform, I built a system which allows Emmanuel to add new artists to the site, and upload images of their work. Artists can also be attached to exhibitions, creating a log of each of his shows.
In the fall of 2007, during my sophomore year at SUNY Purchase College, journalism student Amber Van Natten approached me with an idea for an online-only campus news outlet. I was all-in, and thus The Brick was born. This project was my first dive into server-side scripting and databases. I built the first version by hand with PHP and MySQL, which allowed for user-authentication and article management. Knowing I would have to pass this project on after I graduated, I later migrated it to Drupal. The site has since become a campus-staple, and the first source for student journalism.
